In 2007, Groveport United Methodist Church formulated a SAFE SANCTUARY POLICY requiring those adults working with children to take a training course and provide a background check to our Safe Sanctuary Committee. The training is mandatory and must be updated every three years. There must be two adults (trained/background checked) present in all Sunday School classes or any other child-oriented event in the church. When this is not possible, a trained member will monitor the classes. At the beginning of each new year, the committee will notify those who need to renew their training and make possible either scheduled training dates or one-on-one training sessions with a committee member.
